What We Found
This older living area on Lakeside Drive had its ceiling taken down to the timber frame. That left the framing, the electrical cabling and the cornice line around the edge of the room all open. Cornice is the moulding where the ceiling meets the wall.
How We Did It
Before any new sheets went up, we checked the frame for good fixing points and made sure the cables had room above the new ceiling. Then we fixed new plasterboard to the frame and flushed every join and screw head. Flushing means filling them with plaster compound so they can be sanded back smooth.
Where We Left It
These photos are from the open stage, with plastic sheeting up to protect the room. Once the flushing was done, the ceiling was ready for sanding and painting.
