Our Ceiling Projects
Real jobs from across Perth, with the photos taken on site. Pick a suburb to jump to it.

Lakeside Drive, Joondalup
Full Ceiling Replacement in Joondalup
A Joondalup living room taken back to the timber frame. We put up new plasterboard and flushed the joins, filling them with plaster compound ready for sanding and paint.

Ocean Keys Boulevard, Clarkson
Living Room Ceiling With Recessed Lighting in Clarkson
A wide open-plan ceiling in Clarkson with a stepped edge, recessed features and lots of light positions. We did it while the room was still being lived in.

Church Street, Wanneroo
Ceiling Renewal in a Wanneroo Family Home
Connected living and utility rooms in Wanneroo, re-sheeted where needed, then taped and flushed so the ceilings line up from room to room.

Cedric Street, Stirling
New Plasterboard Ceilings in a Stirling Renovation
A Stirling open-plan renovation where we sheeted and flushed the ceiling and the walls around it while the build carried on.

Kent Street, Rockingham
Living Room Ceiling Replacement in Rockingham
A ceiling replacement in a bright Rockingham kitchen, dining and living room, photographed from three angles.

Peel Street, Mandurah
Ceiling Sheeting and Joint Repairs in Mandurah
Several rooms of a Mandurah refurbishment, with the ceilings sheeted, the joins taped and the corners finished across more than one ceiling height.

Hay Street, Perth CBD
Commercial Fit-Out Ceilings on Hay Street, Perth
A multi-room commercial fit-out on Hay Street, from an open ceiling frame full of ducts and cables to lined and flushed walls and ceilings.

Erindale Road, Balcatta
Plasterboard Ceiling in a Long, Narrow Space in Balcatta
The Job
This job on Erindale Road was a long, narrow space. A big run of new sheeting went across the ceiling, with plaster compound along the board joins and the lines of the frame.
Keeping It Straight
In a space this shape the joins run the full length of the ceiling, so any wobble shows from one end to the other. Each join had to sit straight, and the compound had to go on evenly the whole way along before sanding and painting.

Scarborough Beach Road, Scarborough
Residential Ceiling Replacement in Scarborough
The Job
This bright room on Scarborough Beach Road has timber-framed doors and windows and a big ceiling. We replaced the ceiling with new plasterboard.
What the Photos Show
There are two views of the same room. You can see the rows of screws and the taped joins across the new sheets. The joins and screw heads are being flushed, which is the stage before sanding and painting.

Walter Road, Morley
Ceiling and Alfresco Soffit Work in Morley
Two Spaces in One Job
This house on Walter Road had ceiling work in two places. One was a lined ceiling just inside, next to the brickwork, with the joins being flushed. The other was the soffit, the lined underside of the roof, over the alfresco.
Edges and Joins
In both spaces we paid close attention to the edges and joins, and to where the ceiling meets the brickwork and the soffit meets the roof.

Whatley Crescent, Bayswater
Ground-Floor Ceiling Renewal in Bayswater
The Job
This was a big ceiling job through the connected ground-floor rooms of a home on Whatley Crescent. The work took in the stairwell, the light points and a room with a tiled splashback.
How It Went
The photos follow the job from the old ceilings as we found them, through the new sheets and repairs, to taping and flushing the joins. Some spaces are still bare in the photos while others already have fresh flushed plasterboard.

Beaufort Street, Mount Lawley
Small Room Ceiling Replacement in Mount Lawley
Before
This narrow room in an older home on Beaufort Street had its ceiling taken right out, leaving the timber framing on show. Taking the old lining off gave us full access to the ceiling frame.
Putting It Back
We fixed new plasterboard to the frame, then flushed along the joins and screw points over several coats of compound. The photos show each coat going on, from the bare timbers to the last round of compound.
From there the ceiling was ready for the final sanding and painting.

Off Albany Highway, Victoria Park
Damaged Ceiling Removal in Victoria Park
Taking Out the Damage
At this home in a side street off Albany Highway, we cut out a damaged section of ceiling. That opened up the timber framing, the foil-backed insulation and the roof timbers above the brickwork.
Why We Open It Up
This is the strip-out and make-safe stage: taking out the damaged lining and anything loose that could fall. With the frame open we can check the roof structure, the insulation and the fixing points before any new ceiling goes up.

Off Alexander Drive, Dianella
Laundry Ceiling Refit in Dianella
The Job
In a home in the streets off Alexander Drive, we refitted the laundry ceiling. It's now a smooth ceiling with a light opening in the middle.
Wet Areas
The second photo is the finished bathroom in the same house. Laundries and bathrooms get steam and splashes, so the finish around fittings like the light point matters more than in a dry room.

Royal Street, East Perth
Kitchen and Living Room Ceiling Patching in East Perth
The Job
This kitchen and living area on Royal Street was lived in while we worked. We put fresh compound along the wide joins across the ceiling.
Patching the Joins
The photos show the same ceiling from a few angles, with the kitchen cabinets and the bulkheads around it. A bulkhead is a lowered box section of ceiling. They're from the flushing stage, before the ceiling is sanded and repainted.

Angelo Street, South Perth
Small Room Ceiling Jointing in South Perth
The Job
This compact room on Angelo Street has a plasterboard ceiling with tapered joins, patched screw points and the existing cornice, the moulding where the ceiling meets the wall. Tapered joins are where the board edges are made thinner so the tape and compound sit flush. A cable for a light is left hanging, ready for the electrician.
What We Did
We spread compound across the repaired seams and over the screw heads. Once it dries, the room can be sanded and painted for an even finish. Both photos show the work in progress.
